Ensure a smooth, safe, and efficient granite installation by reviewing the steps below before your scheduled appointment.
Step 1: Be Ready for Installation 🏠
- An adult (18+) must be present for the entire installation.
- Cabinets must be fully installed, secured, and level.
- Sink base cabinets must be properly sized and ready for your sink.
- Any recommended supports (brackets, corbels, steel supports) should be installed if advised.
Step 2: Clear the Area ✨
- Remove all drawers, shelves, and cabinet contents from the installation area.
- Clear and clean the countertops and area beneath them.
- Protect or move nearby furniture to prevent dust exposure.
- Remove all breakable items from surrounding rooms.
- Keep children and pets away from the work area.
Step 3: Ensure Access 🚪
- Ensure a clear, unobstructed path from the driveway to the installation area. Granite pieces are heavy and large.
- Make sure doorways, hallways, and turns are accessible for installers.
- Remove snow or ice from the driveway, walkways, and entry paths on installation day.
Step 4: Dust & Cutting ⚒️
- Dust is normal during installation and may settle afterward. This includes dust from stone cutting or any on-site wood modifications.
- Installers will perform a basic clean of the work area, but detailed cleaning is the homeowner’s responsibility.
- The company is not liable for dust settling after installation.
Step 5: Smells & Ventilation 🌬️
- Odors from adhesives, sealers, or other materials may occur.
- Ensure proper ventilation if sensitive.
- The company is not liable for reactions to standard installation materials.
Step 6: Protect Walls & Finishes 🖌️
- Minor wall contact may occur where stone meets three connecting walls.
- The company is not liable for minor scratches or marks on walls, paint, or finishes.
- Touch-ups may be required after installation.
Step 7: Plumbing, Electrical & Other Trades 💧⚡
- Do not schedule plumbers, electricians, or other trades right after installation. Please allow 6-12 hours after installation.
- Ensure sinks, faucets, and appliances needed for installation are on-site. Final connections must be completed by licensed trades.
Step 8: Payment & Completion 💰
- Final payment is due upon completion of the installation.
Step 9: Important Notes 📝
- Granite is a natural material; variations in color, pattern, and veining are normal.
- Changes to cabinetry or layout after templating may require re-templating and additional costs.
- Delays caused by site readiness issues may result in rescheduling fees.
